selecting multiple objects from the server tree

  • In enterprise manager (sql 2000) one was able to select mutliple objects in the standard windows way of using a combination of ctrl & shift keys. You could then do things like drop them at the same time or generate a script for these.

How does one do this on 2005?

    Thanks.

  • Same thing... However you must use the right pane to use the multi-select feature. I forget the name of the tab but there's one that list all the objects of the parent node. You can do what you need there...

  • In Management Studio when you select a folder in the Object Explorer (e.g. Tables) you should see a "Summary" window. If not select the View menu and select Summary or press F7. The summary view will list the objects in the folder. In this view you can multi-select objects.

  • Such a minor yet essential detail. Thanks a lot!
