If you really like the challenge, this one for you:

draw Mona Lisa using T-SQL (I remember I had seen assembler application which would print out this one using characters and digits on old alphanumeric printing devices for IBM Mainframe lot)

    Good luck.

    Nah! It's been done already.

Doubt I can beat Chris' solution for speed.

Yeah, it does resembles one. That was Level 1. Do you want to save the game? :hehe:

Next level will be more complicated:

Write SQL to transform any saved image (as varbinary) into the alphanumeric representation for similar print out!

I can see you guys have nothing much to do on Friday evening, don't you think it's better to spend time left in a pub πŸ˜€

    On my way now!

My mantra: No loops! No CURSORs! No RBAR! Hoo-uh![/I]

My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?

    My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.

It's lunchtime here, and the permies are all coming back from the pub. Contractors IIRC have a no alcohol clause :crying:
