I HAVE TWO TABLEs AS BELOW:
TABLE_A
KEY_ID DATE_EFF PRICE VEND_ID
190208100 15/01/2007 41.72 FSIG05
190208100 17/01/2007 61.78 GENE25
190208100 15/01/2008 39.63 FSIG05
1848172C1-R 19/04/2006 46.56 GENE25
190208100 15/01/2009 37.65 FSIG05
1848172C1-R 15/01/2007 65.55 FSIG05
1848172C1-R 18/04/2008 63.00 GENE25
1848172C1-R 19/01/2009 38.95 FSIG05
TABLE_B
PART NO SUPPLIER ID PRICE
190208100 FSIG05
190208100 GENE25
1848172C1-R FSIG05
1848172C1-R GENE25
I need to pickup the LATEST price from TABLE A and populate it in TABLE B for each part no and supplier ID.
I'm not sure how to go about doing this as part of my SSIS solution?
Basically end up like this:
TABLE_B
PART NO SUPPLIER ID PRICE
190208100 FSIG05 37.65
190208100 GENE25 61.78
1848172C1-R FSIG05 38.95
1848172C1-R GENE25 63.00
HELP??

Assuming that the two tables are both in SQL Server already, just use an EXECUTE SQL task containing the relevant UPDATE command ... Seems a bit too easy - am I missing something?
