Based on the OP's last posting, he might not see the posting after his. I dropped him a PM trying to explain some of our opinions and the reasoning behind them. I don't know if he is open to the input, but can only hope. I tried to explain that we are more than willing to help, just that as a student we expect him to work harder for the answer rather than expect it to just be handed to him. We want students to come and ask questions, but when they leave it would be much more satisfying to us if they actually understand what they got, and can remember it when they go out into the real world of IT.
Well that is just the jist of what I said, so we'll see.

If he cut us off, it's because he's already an "adult"... not sure I'd waste time on a PM... remember what I said...
most adults have already lost theirs so not worried about them
You can lead a horse to water... and you can make him drink... I just don't like taking a suction on the part of the horse that's necessary to make that work 😉

Well, there is always hope. I've learned a lot more through this site, and some of that is from you. I think I try harder on some things because I know you'll see it some time, and I don't want to get yelled at too much. Actually, your critisism is usually very contructive and helpful in learning concepts and how things should or can be done.
By the way, you seem to haunt this site a lot. 😉

Jeff,
I did get a favorable reply to my PM. Not to go into details, but in my reply back I did point the OP to your article on how to ask for help telling him the it would help us help him. Also told him not give up on us and we would not give up on him. Also suggested that he post back what he learned, his solution. Warned him he might get some critisism, but that it would be (hopefully) constructive and help show other ways things could be done.
We'll have to wait and see.

I got a PM as well and I'll close down this topic since we've slightly wandered away from the question. I did explain that I thought he/she hadn't done enough work and shown an effort, but I think we got slightly personal here.
I can appreciate the frustration, and I have bad days like everyone else, but please try not to pick on someone too much. It might be ignorance as easily as laziness.
