I have registered some sql server production servers (2005 Enterprise Edition) on my desktop using sql server management studio. I am trying to script out the database roles for a database.
I right clicked the database--> Tasks--> Generate Script --> selected a database --> let Script Options as the default --> then when it comes to Object Types, I see schema, stored procedures, tables, user-defined functions, users, views.
WHERE is the one for DATABASE ROLE?????

Which ServicePack are you using?
On my SP2 machine I have Database Roles on top of the list. I don't have any machines available with a lower version so can't test if it makes a difference.

The productions sql server are sql 2005 with SP2. On my desktop (on another box), the client sql server studio management (no sql server installed), was installed by some helpdesk person.
These things shouldn't make a difference I believe...

I can assure you they do. SP2 made some changes to the scripting options and also to SSMS (Customr reports, Object Explorer Details windows etc.).
You should always apply the same service pack to the clients as to your servers.
