Screen layout messed up in Forum control panel

  • If you access

    Forums -> control panel

    or

My Account -> Forums control panel

the screen layout is messed up. The header section is absolutely huge with the link to SQL monitor on the right hand side. The blue colour scheme is absent and if you use the left hand menu links to move to another part of the site, they also get this - this is because the links remain https: rather than reverting to http:.

Replicated in IE 11 and Firefox 34.0

  • I'm not having such a problem and I have IE 11.

________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

  • Bizarre, I have attached a screenshot of what I see. Operating system is Windows 7 SP1 with all current updates.

I have tried IE11 compatability views as experience shows this can affect screen rendering but this doesn't seem to make much difference.

  • Is this still broken? It looks like you didn't pick up the CSS on the page. It's not a site problem overall, as this works in all browsers and from multiple machines for me.

Your Twitter logo in your signature does appear to be broken though. I even tried to see it directly at http://assets0.twitter.com/images/twitter_logo_125x29.png and it appears to no longer exist.

  • That shouldn't be the problem. It might cause other issues, but shouldn't prevent CSS.

I saw this on Amazon last week for someone else. They got a mobile link, and it didn't translate properly to the desktop, ignoring CSS.

  • Steve - yes, still a problem. Desktop Firefox 34 and IE11, and android firefox as well.

  • Same network(s)?

Strange. I have Firefox 34 and don't see this.

Have you tried clearing cookies? I hate asking, since that annoys me, but maybe just whack the SSC cookie?

  • Have just tried it and I get the same.

The auto updater just upgraded me to Firefox 35.0 and I get the same behaviour.

  • Is it just in the control panel or all forums?

  • Just the control panel, and now only if I access it via the links within My Account. If I access it from the top of the forums list, it now renders properly.

I think it is related to moving from an http: to https: connection.

However, now if I click one of the links in the side menu when the screen is as in my screenshot, it now reverts to normal rendering.

  • Interesting. We'll debug a bit more
