  Will an SSIS Package developed in SQL 2008 BIDS work, if scheduled on a SQL 2005 server? I'm guessing it won't, but wanted to confirm.

  You can start a SSIS job on another server using sql 2005, but you wont be able to call a 2008 SSIS package directly from 2005. So you will need another instance or to redevelop the package in 2005
