  I have a stored procedure that lives in the master database. It's purpose is to re-index and de-fragment.

  If I run the sp manually from the QA it runs just file, but I want to schedule it to run.

  Every time the job runs it fails. I've set the database to be master in the job schedule, but I can't see where I'm going wrong.

  Can anyone offer any suggestions?

  does the sql agent account has the rights to start the reindexing?
