I have created a DTS package on the SQL Server, which imports data from AS400 to SQL Server database. I can run the package manually on the server, but when I schedule it the problem turns up (the job hanging there doing nothing).
I created a system DSN for AS400, in the package I even used a data link for the AS400 connection with the user and password saved in the UDL file. I log on to the SQL Server on my PC using my login account, the SQL Server Agent is under the account of ADMIN, and the AS400 user is neither me nor ADMIN.

If you want to use the SQL Server Agent to launch scheduled DTS packages, you must install the IBM ODBC driver on the SQL Server system.

Thanks, fromnaija. I have done what you suggested before I created the DTS package. Now I am wandering the job hanging there might because it is waiting for the AS400 user name and password, but they are saved in the UDL file.
