Save me - SQL logs

  • I have just installed my first enterprise edition - others are standard. To save time checking each servers logs I grab the bits I'm interested in (e.g. failed logons) from the application log of each machine so that a combined file for all servers is ready in the morning. But my enterprise edition doesn't seem to write to the application log - now this may not be the best way of doing things but it's simple and easy and works. The thing that is annoying me is that I don't know why this server is different.

    Can anyone assist???

  • Do you have auditing enabled in server properties?

  • Yes I do. The information is in the sql log but not the application log - this may be right but isn't how it works on my other servers.
