san/nas and sql server

  HI. If we go to a san/nas environment, can we put our database files, (mdf's and ldf's) on that box but keep our installation of sql server on the NT server it  is currently running on? will sql server still work? or would we have to INSTALL sql server on the san/nas?

  You'd keep sql on the local box and use the san for the database files.
