I have tried on two different servers and my workstation the client component install from the SQL 2005 CD2 to get the SampleCurrencyData.txt file to do the SSIS tutorials. Of course the tutorial is one of those that each lesson builds on what was completed in the last, so if you can't get started . . . Don't mention the Free E-Learning either, 2 hours and multiple downloads later it still wouldn't play the demos for me. The tutorial was ok until I realized I really do need the file. Thanks for any help!

The samples are installed, but I had to install them outside of the installation process. You need to make sure that all the samples are chosen as part of your installation. Afterwards you need to go inside the samples folder the initiate the installation icon. This will work for you.

Krista,
It has been a few months so I assume that you have either found the answer or given up. Here is the solution for anyone else who needs it:
From this location, you should download and install the SqlServerSamples.msi appropriate for your machine type.

It seems that Microsoft has moved the sample files to the codeplex site. As of August, 2007, this link will take you to the 2005 sample downloads.

Be aware that there are also sample files for SQL Server 2008 CTP on codeplex. I mistakenly downloaded a 2008 file before finding my way to the 2005 area.

Wow! Two years later and this is still a problem. I am trying to do the SQL 2008 SSIS tutorial and once again can't seem to locate the file either.

Okay. I found it right where it was supposed to be. That's the problem I guess.
