sa password change

    Hi,

    I have couple of questions.

    1. How can I change sa password? I have forgotten the password.

    2. My enterprise manager shows two registration of my local server. One is by "Local" and the other is by the machine name. Why?

    I am using SQL Server 2000.

    From Enterprise Manager Right click on the server.

    Choose Edit SQL Server registration properties....

    Choose Use Windows authentification

    You should be able to log in then go to security choose logins and right click on SA and change the password.

    -------------------------------

    If I remember correctly Local is the default registration of SQL on installation.

    But someone must of also re-registered the server by its name as well......

    Also try  with sp_password. More on sp_password can be found on BOL.
