Hi,
I've been trying to find some information about the recommended way to run SSRS on the Internet with the data sources protected by a firewall. Authentication with Integrated Security.
I've tried putting SSRS portal in a DMZ with the SSRS database behind a firewall. HTTPS/SSL provided by a Traffic Manager.
This gave us HTTPS without having to install SSL on the SSRS server.
It had side effects though, namely, random drops in connectivity which caused report issues.
I've read here about adding SSL to SSRS
Do Microsoft offer any recommendations on securing data/authenticating users for this use case?
The newer versions of SSRS work really well with Mobiles so I'm keen to offer this to users.

I think the issue with this is that we can't separate out SSRS web front end from the server. The article above needs development. Not ideal. Interesting that Microsoft make SSRS mobile friendly but doesn't provide a secure way to publish.
Obviously a can of worms.
Would :
DB --> Firewall --> SSRS --> Firewall , HTTPS, provide security?
DB is a data mart so very keen to protect it.
