hi i seem to be running in a circle trying to find a db2 connector for windows where my dw sql server is running. the links say to go to their web console. but there isnt anything on their web console that looks like a download for that purpose. their virtual assistant asked if i could clarify after i i entered the same questio twice "i need a db2 connector for windows". the same assistant asked what org i am representing even though i entered it already.
this is where i ended up https://www.sqlservercentral.com/forums/topic/open-a-ssis-package-in-design-view-fro-ssis-catalog

i created an ibm id. and im on a page where i believe i can download their console or drivers but the list of drivers doesnt seem to include a windows version. and i have to pause to download the supposedly free console to read their terms.

thx ant-green we are trying to get away from the MS db2 driver as its been suggested that is where our performance problem is currently.

thx ant-green, bear with me as i check with others on our staff if that list of db2 products that can be connected to is what we use in the cloud. we just migrated there. i've heard it referred to as XA. i know it was on an as400. even though its in the cloud it might "still" be on an as400.

There's not a lot of traffic here, but there are some knowledgeable people who might be able to help.

We installed iSeries Access on SQL server and that installed the DB2 connectors. I think they replaced iSeries access with a Java only version, but you should still be able to get it.

If you are still looking for an ODBC connection, and are prepared to pay, look into the following:
IBM Db2 Hosted ODBC Driver Downloads | Progress DataDirect
DB2 ODBC Driver | 32/64-Bit Driver for Windows, Linux, macOS & more (cdata.com)
etc

i got our worst offenders down from 2hrs 48 minutes total to 31 minutes total by simply using frederico's code recommendations on a sister post in this forum.
in the image is info/direction from one of our more experienced network guys.
can the community help me to make these decisions?...

thx Ken. Still trying to get our staff to tell me what the db2 erp they use is called. ARGHH. From what I've seen that might restrict our choices of drivers. will post back here what i learn.

If this is in fact running on some version of OS/400 (or now IBM i) you could perhaps try to query it in SQL?

And on the topic of getting and installing data drivers for the IBM i DB2, a good place to start would probably be

thx kaj, we are querying it in sql off a linked server. i'm no expert but i believe we still have/want to go thru a driver (installed on our sql server) to reach that as400. i've heard of drivers installed on the target but we dont want to go there.
i have just learned that the erp is from a different vendor called infor and is their xa product. so i believe the erp is irrelevant to this question. i'm trying to get clarity on the model (or whatever) of the machine and version of db2 presumably installed there. i'm assuming at the moment that terms like os400 and iseries are as400 terms but am not sure.
i looked inside the conn info in the linked server and indeed , amongst other things it has this attribute...DBMS Platform=DB2/AS400
i've also reached out to CData but since we already have a license to run the erp on the as400, am thinking that we should start with ibm connector products. at the moment my head would clear somewhat if i understood how this list of compatible sources can be reconciled to what we already have. i dont know if its the as400 machine, the db2 dbms or something else i need to find out if any of the items in this list is what we have...are we likely db2 for ibm i? or maybe db2 for z/os? or none of these?
