Getting the resultset out to a variable is the easy part. I can explain that, the problem is that there are only a few components (one I can think of in 2005) that can use it directly, that component is the Foreach loop..

I do know how to use it in a data-flow, but that requires a script component as the source.

Yes - you could store it as XML and pass that in, or like you mentioned - pass it to a for each loop (using the system.object type
