Hi
I have installed 2005 & I also want to have 2000's tools as I still find them pretty useful (especially
in replication and script generation areas), but after installing the client tools for 2000 alongside my 2005
(Dev Edition), though QAnalyzer works fine, Enterpise Manager cant open (snap in cant initialize).
Having to use remote desktop for it at the moment 🙁
Anyone knwo how I can get enterpise manager working alongside 2005 Management Studio?

For the moment I'm running both at my windows xp sp2 without a problem
I started with the sql2k-personal edition, then installed my 2005 std edition.

I can't run ent mgr either on my local machine (which has new 2k5 tools loaded also). am on Xp pro also...am having to use the same solution - use remote desktop connection....but I havn't worried too much about it as I figure the more I get used to the newer tools the easier it will be in the long run

I've reinstalled my test-dekstop with winxp sp2, added sql2000 client (no sp) and then sql2005 client.
Everithing works fine.
SQL2005 client is being instaled with these options :
ADDLOCAL=Client_Components,Connectivity,SQL_Tools90
,SQL_WarehouseDevWorkbench,SDK,SQLXML,Tools_Legacy
,SQL_Documentation,SQL_BooksOnline,SQL_Samples
rember to reboot you machine. SQL2005 aparently does keep a "instaling"-mark, so other installation-softwares may notice this and will not want to be installed until after this reboot. (e.g Sql2000 sp4)
Even after sp4 it works fine
