RS Licensing

  • We are running SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition and want to roll out Reporting Services for CRM and Exchange Reporting.

I found all of the Lastest Service Packs and Report Packs on Microsoft Download site - but I can only find a 120 eval version of Reporting Services??

We checked our MSDN subscription CDs and our partner licensing site but can't find the RS download there either..

Can someone help me out and explain how RS is licensed and how to download it????

  • Thank you!!!   I missed that post in my search.  It has alot of good links and I have alot of reading to do!!!!

From what I've read so far, It looks like if Report Server and Report Server Database are installed on the same computer, only one valid license for SQL Server 2000 is required - So I'm thinking that If I install Report Server and Report Server DB on my Production SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition Server, I won't need any additional licensing - at least that's how I think it works.   My problem remains that I can't figure out where to download the actual Reporting Services Software!!!?????   All I can find is a download to the  120 day eval version??   I downloaded sp2 for SQL Server 200 Reporting Services and some of the Report Packs...  but I need the actual software...
