Hi,
A strange but nasty problem..
Each time we process an Analysis Services cube, we notice that the Roles, defined on the cube are dropped.
Somebody a hint ?

Problem solved.
Processing in the cube from the BIDS solution (without any roles defined), dropped the existing roles which were originally defined in SSMS .
Solution : Process the cube from the SSMS .

Hi
I've a similar problem.
I'm working with SQL 2000 SP4 and analysis services 2000 SP4.
I've a cube with one role that works like it should be.
Afterwards we've added a new databaserole to this cube what also seems to work like it should be.
(We can do the test and this goes ok).
We then have a night job that processes this cube and archives and restores my cube to another server
but when I want to consult my cube my role does not work like it should be.
The only solution I have for the moment is to reprocess this cube.
(Let me say that this cube is a virtual cube).
If you could have an idea?

Hi JP,
When using the AS Deployment Wizard you specifiy 'retain existing roles' when deploying your cube solution to another server. Earlier defined roles on that other server will still exist after the deployment.
Now all of this, is SSAS 2005/2008 functionality.
I am not familiar with SSAS2000, probably you'll have a similar functionality.
