Hi,
I am using a VB client to display the result set of a Query executed in SQL Server. But while executing "dbcc checkdb", since it is not returning any ResultSet I am not able to retrieve the Text Information which we can get in any Tool like DBArtisan or Rapid SQL.
Can anybody know how to retrieve these info using VB as Client side code? Anybody has tried this Java client?

You might check the errors collection to see if the info is being returned there. BOL says it returns a resultset, have not tried it myself. Interesting.

It appears in SQL like a "Print" message. You could try seeing if you can get print statements back.
It is a good question. You could always execute it from a shell and snag the output into a file. That's what I've done in the past.

Turns out to be an easier solution:
dbcc checkdb with tableresults
Found the answer here:

ThanX A lot for prompt response.dbcc checkdb with tableresults is returning a ResultSet.But if you try commands like 'dbcc dbreindex(<tablename>) with tableresults
dbcc checkcatalog(<dbname>) with tableresults' are not returning any ResultSets.I have found out another way of solving this problem by using Extended Stored Procedures.
exec master..xp_cmdshell "dbcc checkcatalog(<Database Name>)"
ThanX,

Interesting. I will look around some more.
