retrieving collation setting

Hi all
When I alter or create a new db with a collation different from the default, I cant seems to retrieve the databases setting. Namely, in EM its NULL and databasepropertyex is also returning null (probably what EM is doing in the background).
Ideas?

Not sure. I have a SQL2K box right here (not personal, std) and I use SQL_LATIN1_General_CP1_CI_AS as the server default. All the databases are set here. When I then create a new database and choose Albanian_BIN, it shows.
Can you try from another EM instance to be sure it's not your client tools? Have you tried different collations? What about different table collations?

hmm.. looks like its a XP problem, works perfectly under win2k as running EE of sqlserver. I will try patching up my installation at home and see what happens from there.
