Retreiving a count by date including dates with no data.

    It's ok... the ORDER BY's don't hurt anything and they both make it very obvious to the reader what's happening. That can be worth it's weight in gold when it comes to quickly troubleshooting a problem in production, should one occur.

    Yeah, I know - sometimes it is better to leave extra variables so the process is a bit more self-documenting. And yes, I do that often enough myself...
