VS 2008
I am re-using a package from another database that puts data from a table into a Flat File.
The new DB has a field that has a string length of 50 instead of 40 so I get a string truncation error.
I have altered the value in the Flat File Manager Editor - Advanced to 50.
The problem is it does not auto resync the Flat File Destination Editor i.e this still shows 40.
The only way I could fix this is to drop and re-create the OLE DB Source and then go back to the Flat File Destination Editor and resync from there because the Flat File Destination Editor has now noticed the field change.
Is there any way to do this without dropping the OLE DB Source?
thanks

Hi Uncle
You have to change in Flat File connection first, then in Flat File destination.

Change the size of your column in Flat File Connection manager first.
Then refresh the metadata of Flat File Destination.

Hi
You should see warning on Flat File Destination after change in Connection Managers, simply edit the Flat File Destination and
click on Mappings Page and then OK, it will refresh the metadata.

Open Flat File Destination, Click "YES" if you get any warning message.
Then go to mappings and click OK. It will automatically refresh your columns.
