Restoring a db with more data files??

    I've thought of the import option, but I would think it would take more than a couple hours when it includes populate indexes as well. And the hold pk/fk issue would be a pita.

    Personally, I would probably avoid this method due to the time involved - unless the databases where housed on the same server.

    Is it possible you could get those luns presented to the current server?

    Just a thought, but it might be possible to spread the data out across the luns, detach the database from current server, and then attach the database to the new server.

    That is, if both servers can see the same luns, or if the luns can be alternated between the two hosts.
