restore to a new database using full and differential back in one backup file

  • Hello,

Is there a way to restore to a new database using Full and differential backup packed in one file? The Differential backup that I have from the corrupted server has a full backup in it the day I started the backup. I first did a full backup manually and on it I started differential backup that run daily. The backup file is tagged diffrential but has full backup in it. I got to know this using timeline feature on slq restore interface. I could successfully restore full backup in it but when I tried restore the differential backup I got this error "The log or differential backup cannot be restored because no files are ready to rollforward ". When I tried to restore it from files and filegroup, I checked all the differential backup and unchecked the full backup. I got the same error Pls help me with any wayout.

When I tried to do the restore of the differential backup one by one I was stopped by after two succesfull restore with an error that "Unable to create restore plan due to break in LSN chain"

I am using sql server 2019 and version 8 management studio.

Kindly help me resolve this as vital data is at stake.

    Thanks
