I am attempting to restore a backup from another server and I am getting a "Timeout"
This server is SQL2K std, latest sp/fps.
I believe the other server was EE, at SP1, and had Analysis services on it. But I just want to restore the DB.
Any ideas ???

How do you do the restoration, using command in QA or restoring it with EM? What is the exactly error message? I don't think the edition of SQL server is the problem.
How large the database is? Can you restore a sample database such as 'pubs' succcessfully?

Well I was getting the error doing a restore with EM, I avoid command line stuff. (I use too much for DB2).
But I tried it with QA command and it worked. Thanks for rattling my cage Allen.
Still don't understand why it errored out with EM, I have restored other DBs many times with EM. But it is solved,
Thanks Again.

Check the time-out setting in SQL Server EM --> Tools --> Options --> Advanced Tab.
