Restore SQL Server 2008 R2 Differential onto 2014/2016 DB in NORECOVERY

    Hi Guys,

    If I have restored a 2008R2 database into NORECOVERY onto a 2014/2016 Instance.

    I presume there are no issues with applying a differential after that into RECOVERY as no upgrade has taken place whilst its in NORECOVERY.

    No issues. What you wouldn't be able to do is restore WITH STANDBY
