Restore diffrential database /transaction log backup

    Hi,

    I have backed up diffrential database ,tranasaction log from node a to node b

    and trying to restore them in node b

    but its giving error msg saying that" database in use"

     

    or

    "you used database backup ,cant restore"

     

    any body help me..

    You must restore a full database backup before you can restore either a differential or a log backup.  See "Designing a Backup and Restore Strategy" in BOL.

    When you did the initial full restore, did you specify the NORECOVERY option?

    You might probably want to put the target database in single user mode.
