  • Steve, if I follow the steps on your document, do you think that I will be able to recover the DTS packages that did not get restored? Thanks.

  • Hi..

The packages don't get backed up when you back up the database on which they are created.

The information of/about the packages created are stored in the MSDB database. Hence you should backup this database as well to backup your packages and restore this database in the server where the database is being restored.

There is another way as well. You could save the package as a file and import back to your server.

    Good luck

    Hello everyone,

I restored our databases on a server. Everything looks fine except the local packages were not restored. Doesn't SQL Server restore the packages? Actually I used Veritas Backup Exec 8.6. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
