i have tried to restore the database on my pc but at that time it is giving error while re-storing the databse in sql-server 2005.
Error is:
Too many backup devices specified for backup or restore; only 64 are allowed.
RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)Microsoft Sql Server Error:3205
please suggest me what should i do for re-storing the databse

Hello Sanjeev,
Are you trying to restore a SQL 2005 database backup to SQL 2000 server?
If so, it is not possible to restore a higher version database backup to a lower version server.
Check the version on your PC.

You can refer to this KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833710.What is the Service pack of the SQL Server you are using?If it is not the latets one,Upgrade it to the latest one.This problem occurs in SQL Server 2000 SP3.

hi
i have taken the backup of sql-server 2005 form another hard disk
and now i m going to restore it on another hard disk on which sql-server 2005 is installed.
at the time of restore it is giving problem
which i have earlier mentioned.
so there is no role of sql-server 2000 in this.
but i have installed sql-server 2000 also on my PC.
pls suggest me what should i do.
