Restore Database Error

  • I'm trying to restore a database and am getting the following error:

"MODIFY FILE encountered operating system error 112(There is not enough space on the disk.) while attempting to expand the physical file. Could not adjust the space allocation for file 'MyFile_Log'. RESTORE database is terminating abnormally."

What do I need to do to solve this issue?

    Thanks,

    Ninel

  • It may be stating the obvious, but it sounds like you've run out of disk space.  How big was the database (MDF + LDF) before it was backed up and how much space do you have now?

  • If I right click on the database and hit properties it shows the database I am trying to restore is 30676 mb.

  • ... so how much space do you have on your hard disk?
