Now I've really screwed things up. I tried to restore the database and received an error, "File already exists". Now the database is gone and I can't get it back, I always get the same message.
I tried creating a new db with the same name and restoring over the top of that, exactly the same results.
What file already exists?
How do I restore the database?

Can you post the error message and the steps you took to restore the db?

In Analysis Manager I chose the server and then Restore Database. Selected the backup and the process ran. There were 102 files to restore and after 102, I get the error message, "File Already Exists". My problem is that nothing tells me what file.

Delete all files in the data folder corresponding to this database, then try to restore the backup again.

Try restoring it to another machine, just in case there's an issue on that server. Then, if successful, make sure you dump the definitions and do a clean build.
NB. Recommend you seriously look at moving up to SQL 2005, once you're past the emergency.

I tried deleting all of the files; no joy.
I wish I could move to 2005, but that won't happen.
