I need to restore an old backup for an upcoming IRS audit. The current database must remain functional, while still being able to access the old (which I want to restore). I want to create a test database to dump the tape backup into. I am, however, completely unfamiliar to the commands.
Can anyone give me some direction on the matter?
Thanks,
Bill

The easiest way to do this is run a backup of the current database.
In EM, right click the "DAtabases" folder and select "All Tasks
Restore". In the name of the database, type a new name. Select "FRom Device" and then "Add" and pick the backup file. Be sure this is the only file selected, if there's another, select it and click "remove". On the "Options"
tab, be sure that you change the path for the files to a new path so you don't overwrite the existing files.
