Restoration error

    One option is...

    Detach the DB.

    Move the Data & Log Files of this DB from current location to some other location.

    Create new DB with the same name as of your DB.

    Restore the Backup on this new DB.

    I am sure u will be able to restore using the above steps.

    Check whether the any user is connected to database (including you) disconnect it. To chek active connection you can use queries provided by others( in above replies ) or you can check usiong deattach option in task.

    for restoration connect to server, use master database to restore database ( if you are restoring database using T-SQL ).
