Was only really a problem in windows 2008 and R2.
The smart money uses windows 2012 R2 or windows 2016

You forgot the step where you have to beg, plead and whine to the security department for permissions to fix the issue. Then you have to cross the picket lines of the server admin team to find somebody willing to work with you to make the change when security turns you down. Otherwise, this is an excellent article.
