One of my colleague has installed a software Visio Pro 5.
After that he started receiving this message when ever he uses Enterprise Manager
"Repository engine V3.0 or higher is required to run Meta Data Browser..."
When I checked BOL it says SQL Server 2000 (which we are using) requires Repository engine V3.0. So the obvious thing is that the other software has installed lower version of Repository engine without prompting.
Now my question is that is there a way by which ONLY Repository engine V3.0 can be installed or is the SQL Server required to be reinstalled?
Will this affect the new software installed?

Short of reinstalling SQL server check here http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/default.asp?URL=/code/topic.asp?URL=/msdn-files/028/000/123/topic.xml for the Meta Data Services SDK which includes the repository engine. Only problem is looks like someone at MS is fooling with the site so I did not see it this morning but that is what you need to get that piece alone.

Neither do I see it. Well, will check it later during the day or rather tomorrow morning. Almost time to wind up my job for the day...
Thank you for your help and the reference.
