Reports are not working

  • Hi,

We have bunch of SSRS reports. We have a website where the end customer can login and run the reports from frontend.

Some of the reports are not working from them (From fronentend) but those are working in report manager url.

Any thing need to check here (Some reports are working but not all)

  • I would start with comparing the differences between the reports that are working and those that are not. What errors do you get when you try to run the reports that don't work?

  • When I execute the report from the frontend I found the below message from logs and

from the frontend I am getting the msg like sorry an error occured while processing your request Notfound

    From SSRS Logs:

  • Did you notice this difference?

  • Sorry actually it was D only but when I editing the report name changed in place the path C:/ instead of D:/

  • Do the reports that don't work reference local resources (e.g. images)?

  • Yes. It has to show some graphs. Dates in X-axis and correspond values in Y-axis.

Is there anything needs to be change for graphs (images)? We are using Native mode not the sharepoint

Graphs are generated on the fly.

When I ask about images, I am asking if you are referencing anything like a png, gif, or jpg file from disk resource on the server.

  • Can you please let me how to check this

When I open the .RDL in VisualStudio, it is showing that it executing sp. I didn't see further details. How can we know the report is using external image (.Jpg) or not?

  • It is in the Report Data section. Left-hand side. There is a folder called "Images".

    Joie Andrew
    "Since 1982"

  • I didn't see any images there.

    I find the link

    https://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2605/sql-server-reporting-services-image-source-report-options/

It showing the images will be stored in 3 ways.

In that case the images tab that we check from .RDL is embedded images. So I think there is no embed images for this report but I am not sure about the external images we might have any!

  • Any help on this issue. The issue is still continuning. Some reports are working from the website but some not.

Is this related to the memory or any other resource issue?

  • Do the reports try to access any on disk xml files?

It seems like you are relatively new to SSRS and Report development. This is an issue that just may be best served by getting a consultant on premise.

  • I don't think it is trying to access any xml. It is using sp as dataset
