Reporting Services will not install

  • I am trying to install reporting services on a Windows 7 64-bit computer. I installed the 64 bit version of SQL Server 2005 Developer Ed. When installing I am getting the warning that IIS is not loaded or is not enabled. I have verified that it is installed (Ver 7.0) and that the ASP.Net, .net framework, and IIS services are running at startup. I have configured a localhost web page and have been through all of the setup included in MS articles 934164 and 938245. It looks like it is good to go, but the installation still cannot find the IIS to install. The option to install RS is greyed out. Anyone have any idea on this? Five days of frustration and counting... :w00t:

  • Came across this post that he did it with Windows Vista

X64 is not relevant what is relevant is Windows 7 edition that is you must be running Windows 7 Ultimate, Business and Enterprise. I am running Ultimate and ran into some issues with SSRS enabling by the installer. So read my last post in the thread below and do exactly this is assuming you are running the correct edition. If you are not running the correct edition there is a work around using SSRS 2008 with SQL Server 2005 relational engine and I can post it here as needed.
