Hello,
I am trying to install reporting services on my computer but the option is greyed out in the installation. This is within SQL Server 2005. When running through the pre-installation checklist it is saying that IIS is not installed but I did install it and included all the extra IIS features that I could find. I am using Windows 7 home premium, not sure if this is an issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Ross.

Hi ross,
If Reportingservices is greyed out then main reason for that is IIS. Browse your default website and check whether IIS is properly installed or not

Hi Arunkumar,
The IIS Management tool is installed. I also created a basic default.htm file and placed it in the wwwroot folder, then typed the url http://localhost/ and it displayed the contents of default.htm correctly. I assume this means IIS is installed??
Kind regards,
Ross.

The short answer is no, you cannot run SSRS 2005 in any home premium operating system because IIS7 in Vista and IIS7.5 in Windows 7 comes without Windows authentication which is required in SSRS 2005 installation. The long answer check the link in the thread below for a work around using SSRS 2008 with SQL Server 2005 relational engine. Post again if you still need help.

Hi Gift Peddie,
Thanks for your post. Good to know it isn't just me. I don't have SSRS 2008 unfortunately so will have to try another angle.
