Reporting services on a separate box from database

    Hi,

    I've got reporting services on a different box from the database and I can see all the reports, but when I try to setup a subscription, I get this weird error:

    The SQL Agent service is not running. This operation requires the SQL Agent service. (rsSchedulerNotResponding)

    The same error happens when I connect to the database server via management studio and try to run a job.

    I can confirm that SQL Agent service is running.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Roust,

    Have you taken a look at Reporting Services configuration? Sounds like maybe the server it is "hitting" the db for may be the reporting services server ?

    Another possibility to look at is maybe the account being used doesn't have that permission? Permission errors always manifest weird messages cause the real problem doesn't get pushed back in the error stack...
