Reporting Services Connection Issues

  • All

I am having an issue deploying reports to one of the Reporting Services servers we have.

If I log on to the server itself, the solution will deploy successfully.

If I deploy the solution from a client machine anywhere else on the network I am getting the following error

Could not connect to the report server http://servername/reportserver. Verify that the TargetServerURL is valid and that you have the correct permissions to connect to the report server

    Additional Information

The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server required authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy service is denied. ). (System.Web.Services)

    /i]

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

  • First Question:

Is Windows Firewall enabled on the report server? If it is try disabling it temporarily and see if you can deploy from the client machine. If you can then you just need to open the necessary ports.

    Second question:

The error message refers to ISA which is a firewall and caching product MS puts out. If it's blocking then I would talk to your Network/Server team. If its the culprit its likely logging those events and will give you some idea of what the cause is.

    Last question:

Are you deploying the reports using the same AD account on the server and from the client machine?
