Reporting Services Configuration Problems

  • Greetings!  I am hoping to get some help trying to set up reporting services.

1st problem - when we load the Reports URL, it is requesting credentials to even get the dashboard to load.  We have to provide an administrator account in order to get the URL to load.  But once we do that, we have access to the dashboard.  How do we get it to stop wanting credentials to even get to the URL?

2nd problem - How do you get the reports available to be used externally to a web application?  The reports run and execute when you're on the actual server in the report URL...but we need them to be available to the application to run them via a link.

I seem to be having issues with permissions and such.  I'm not sure what other info I need to provide, but please let me know if I didn't give enough information.

  • Hi,

is your workstation and your SSRS in the same domain?

    What is your security configuration?

Maybe you are not in the loca admin group?

    Kind regards,

    Andreas

  • #1.  Since nobody has responded, I'll offer maybe a bump in the right direction.  I've found SPN's are very important to SSRS.  I'd make sure you have a domain account running the SSRS Service and have the proper SPNs set to avoid the Kerberos double hop issue.

  • Thank you, it was the service account thing!

  • the kerberos SPN tool is very useful here, heres the link for future reference
