I'm getting the following error when I try to connect to SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services within the Reporting Services Configuration Connection application:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Is this a new installation or has it been running fine and now getting this error?
If it's a new installation, you would want to check the Summary.txt file in your Setup Bootstrap\Log directory.
If it was running fine and this just started, I'd probably check what updates have been installed around the time the errors started.

Hi Maria, if you click on Connect and you get any errors, Click Find, Select 'Report Server Instance': , click Connect.
If you still get errors, go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, Select SQL Server version, click Uninstall / Change,
click Remove, select 'Instance to remove features from' (default is MSSQLSERVER), click Next, select 'Reporting Services',
click Next, .....
After 'Reporting Services' is removed, restart your computer and add ''Reporting Services' again.
