Reporting Services

  • So I have set reporting services up a number of times without issues.

I have a situation where, the link to get to my reports will not work remotely for anybody with out being a local admin on the box.

I have given the account permission to the site (SYstem administrator and system user), tested it with the account having SA on the instance.. i know this isnt required, to no success.

I have added the user account to the folder on the server where the reporting services is held, no success.

What am I missing? It is clearly a permission issue somewhere as with Local admin rights it works.

"Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed."

  • Any help would be much appreciated

  • I am still struggling with this, it works fine if the user is local admin on the box but will not work at all if they are not.

  • Have you set the permissions within SSRS itself? In the security tabs on the home page and underlying areas?

  • Yep that is all set.

It works fine for me, locally and remotely. But i am system admin on the box. It works fine for other users if I add them to system admin too. But obviously we can't do this.

  • Hmm, what's the error that you are getting?

Have permissions been granted to the home page itself, not just the site?

    Andrew

  • users get

"Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed."

Permissions have been granted to both the site settings level and report folder level

  • OK, taking a random stab here. Have the users tried running IE as an admin?
