I have been working with Reporting Services for a while now and has anyone else but me have noticed that i takes a while for the parameters to come up... the stored procedure only takes a couple of seconds to execute... i am wondering if anyone has any tips out there to super charge Reporting Services... anything please... thanks

Hi Moe,
I am assumming you are talking about population of a list or drop down in the report. If so, is the stored proc the same as the one you use to pull the data for the report? We have had some issues due to the number of records the that were needed to be parsed. One of the solutions was to populate a lookup table with distinct data needed for our parameters. We then made a SP to this table to popluate the list. That improved the performance greatly.

Well not only the parameter selection but the Time it takes when you hit the View Report button till the time its rendered.... what can you do to make it render a lot faster...

First make sure you do most of your processing at the SQL server (aggregates, sorts filters) that will speed things up.
