We have installed RS 2000 on our production server and when it was installed the email functionality was not was not an installed option, not sure why it was done this way. I have reinstalled RS 2000 on our DEV server and intalled the email option and have had no problems and now need this functionality on our production server. Is there a way to "turn on" the email option without a reinstall or is reinstalling my only option? I've looked in different publications and online, everything seems to be for new installs. Any and all help would be apreciated. THX

Installing this product takes skill because the setup was crappy, it may have installed in your dev box because it wants to use SMTP that comes with IIS in a server which is where I first installed it, the installer asks for Exchange server. If you did not see that option Microsoft may have removed it or you were not watching the installer. That is a mistake during any RDBMS installation because one wrong option and your installation ends with undesired result. Make sure Exchange is running and rerun setup chose repair remember to watch the installer don't answer questions not relevant to you and make sure you see what it is adding. Post again if you still have questions. Hope this helps.

We will give the repair a try this morning! I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help it is greatly apperciated.
When I installed it on the DEV box I did it intentionally becuase I wanted to use it. The production box was originally set up by a consultant that didn't hink we would be needing that option.
Thanks Again
Kurt
