How should we be reporting issues of this type? Is there a chance of a special control that could be added?
The site is now large enough that breakage will happen. Generally, it will be problematic only for those who are eager to access the specific content, which will probably be a small audience. But it will be acute pain felt by that small group.

'This is good' - you mean, posting the notification here, I assume. Not the fact that there's a broken link, surely.

, yeah this is a good place to post.
It's fixed. This was a break in our security when we moved from W2K to W2k3. We had some .sql files randomly scattered that weren't easily tracked down, so we've been changing them to .txt's and changing the links.
