Report Services Hell?

  • Thanks in advance for the advice / help. I installed SQL 2005 (full installation) and RS didn't appear to

install, so I reinstalled the RS component. It turns out that RS did install on the initial installation.

Now I have a default instance and a named instance, but I can't get either to work.

In the Reporting Services Configuration Manager I have all "Green Checks" and the Report

Server Virtual Directory is pointing to the Default Web Site and the virtual directory as ReportServer.

The Report Manager is pointed to the Defatult Website and the virtual directory Reports

Q - How do I remove my named instance, (or do I need to) and how to I get SRS to work?

    >> How do I remove my named instance,
go to Control panel >> add/remove programs and click Microsoft sql server 2005 and finally remove. it should give you all instances and their components. select the ones you want uninstall and proceed.

since you already have green ticks ,make sure that report services is running(see sql configuraion manager).once up just try following in IE

if everything setup correctly you should see default page(i.e. report manager page)
