I have inherited a mess in the SQL Server Report Monitor and the current company that I have recently started.
There are hundreds of reports spread out accross many directories with names like (ad hoc) or (Live), and a number of other non-descript names for the folders within Reporting Manager, also the way the actual rdl's are named is equally confusing making it almost impossible to find a report or figure out what the report is supposed to contain by looking at the name.
Can someone point me to or suggest some directory and file naming standards that I can put into place so that a user could look at a file or directory and tell what it's for and or what it contains?
I'm hoping someone works in an environment that has some pretty good standards in place that I can imulate...
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance,

The best thing you can do there is to do what you think makes logical sense --- after discussing it with interested parties. It needs to make sense to you and anybody else using the reports. Then you document your new standards and then you enforce what you decided to make as the standards.

Ok, Thanks for the advice, I didn't know if there was some kind of SQL standards out or some kind of best practices that could be used.
I'll definitely take your advice,
Thanks
