Guys, been wrestling with this case for almost 2 weeks now. Please help......
1. There are 2 servers where the reports are being deployed. The reports are there for sure(because 2 weeks ago it was there)
2. Then, all of a sudden, report manager on both servers are not showing up.( it is throwing out a box asking login and password.(it should not be doing this because it should be taking windows login and moreover, nobody knows the login and password because nobody set it)
3. Check everything from permission and properties on the IIS to compare what is different on both of them, surprisingly, none.
4. Then, ON BOTH servers, ( i know this is not right), went ahead and enabled the Anonymous access under start>control panel>administrative tool>IIS>Websites>reports server>Properties>Directory security>[authetication and access control]>edit
5. Now when I did this, the 2nd server's report manager is working fine and did not throw out the login and password window. But the 1st one is still the same. No changes.
What should I do next. I got to have it running. Please help GURUS!!

Under Anonymous Access what is the User Name? Do you have Allow IIS to control password and Integrated Windows Authentication checkboxes checked?
Try accessing the report server by modifying to use a User Name defined in the domain and giving a password by unchecking the Allow IIS to control password checkbox , probably with a Administrator User access. Then you may be able to access the report manager and report servers. After accessing define access rights for IUSER_ System name or any specific user with Allow IIS to control password and give appropriate access rights in the Report Manager by going to properties tab and adding a new role.

I totally understand you. But in my server, first of all, there is no Allow IIS to control password. It does not exist at all. to see what you mean, i went to my local workstation and see my own IIS and there I found it.
What should I do next?

You can use browse button against the user name and select a user with an administrator access rights and if you know the password for the corresponding user, uncheck the Allow IIS to Control Password and give the password for the administrator for authentication. It will prompt you to re-enter the password. Once you are done with it, check the Integrated Windows Authentication checkbox and apply the setting for both ReportServer and ReportManager.
After doing this try accessing you report manager. Once you are able to access the report manager create a role under security for DOMAIN_NAME\IUSER_SystemName (SystemName should be replaced with your system name and Domain Name should be replaced with your domain name.
And give Content Manager Access rights. After doing that go back to IIS and change the UserName to DOMAIN_NAME\IUSER_SystemName and check Allow IIS to Control Password and uncheck Integrated Windows Authentication. Try accessing the report server.
I hope this helps.

Sorry I understood that you do not have Allow IIS to Control Password on your server where you are facing problem.
Let me check.

This is of no help still. ( I am trying hard ). Well, I am the administrator for both the servers. I should be able to change things. But I am not sure what has gone wrong and can you list somethings that should be the default settings? I think someone else got into the server and mess some settings.(the password is given to some DBAs here)

Got the answer and solution for this myself. I had to change some codes in the XML file in the web config file in Report server.

Is it related to
configuration xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/.NetConfiguration/v2.0" ?

Yes. It is. After changing that, I am now able to see my report manager.
Now, I am trying to follow what you have stated up above. I am currently fine. Seeing the report manager and all that. Of course, this is made successful by checking the Anonymous access and I provided the login and password straight over there( I cleared the IUSR_ and added the login straight) but actually, I am supposed to only use windows authentication in both reports and reportserver in IIS.
But when I uncheck the Anonymous access and check only windows authentication, a pop up comes out (a prompt) that is asking me to log in. I understand this should be the case if I am using some other computer to access, but I am not! I am using the same computer to access the report manager. My windows login is ABC\123 and my password is SQL2K5 and this is what exactly I have plugged in the Anonymous access as I have stated above. Now when I log in using the same credentials in the prompt, it goes in and the report manager comes. Good! But I don't want the prompt to pop out, instead, when I type the URL( the ip address of the report) I want the report manager to show as I am the windows user for that particular computer. How can I do this? Can you help?
